AARP Driver Safety Class

Safe driving is a challenge for all drivers, especially older drivers who have changes in vision, hearing, reaction time and judgement. Join Dick Huber, M.D., AARP drive safety instructor, and learn proven safety strategies to help keep you safe on the road. Attendees will receive a workbook and a certificate upon completion of the course. No written or driving tests will be conducted. Bring your driver’s license, your AARP card, if you are an AARP member, a sack lunch or snack and beverage. The class will take a 30-minute lunch break.
In this classroom-style refresher course for drivers’ age 50 and better, attendees will learn:
- Defensive driving techniques
- Host to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time
- New traffic laws and rules of the road
Some insurance companies offer a discount on vehicle insurance premium for drivers completing the class. Please check with your insurance company or agent prior to taking this course for any additional requirements for eligibility!
Cost: $15.00 for AARP members $20.00 for non AARP members (Payment of check or exact cash is accepted. Checks are to be made payable to AARP. Must have your membership cards to receive the AARP member cost.)
